ABOUT US

Established in 1977, Hale & Iremonger first specialised in politics, women's studies, labour history and urban studies. Under publishers Sylvia Hale and Roger Barnes, the list was broadened in the 1980s and the company was acclaimed for its publishing enterprise and high standards of production. Many books won awards and some became bestsellers.

Since then there has been a broad range of marketing initiatives, list development and changes in design, production and distribution.

To date some 500 books have been published. Hale & Iremonger is a constantly evolving and innovative publisher which remains committed to publishing quality Australian books.

The awards and the bestsellers keep coming as Hale & Iremonger continues to publish quality Australian books. Shaping Sydney has recently won the National Book Award from the Building Sciences Forum, and Feng Shui for Australians has sold over 10,000 in 12 months.
